What are the risks of IVF And Multiple Births?

IVF is a process of fertilizing an egg of a female through techniques and technologies. Women usually become pregnant when the egg is mulch inside the woman’s womb or body. If the fertilized egg sticks to the lining of the womb and grows inside- a woman is said to be pregnant, and the baby is prognosticated to arrive nine months later.

But if a couple is surmounting difficulty dealing with a normal pregnancy and is facing severe failures, they resort to various artificial low-cost techniques. But even if some such strategies fail, most women try IVF.

The risk of IVF varies from one to another. It can be mild or severe or even put the baby at risk. A few mild effects women may experience after flinching IVF treatment include cramps, heaviness in the head, bloating, constipation, breast warmth, nausea, etc. Also, the above effects are depicted in normal pregnancy as well.

Serious side effects that may occur during treatment can be premature labor, blood clots, kidney failure, shortness of breath or fainting, abnormal weight gain, miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy or eccentric, and most significantly multiple pregnancies.

Multiple births are very popular when a woman undergoes IVF treatment. Various researchers say that having more than one child is expected through IVF treatment. Doctors are not sure about this because doctors place more than one embryo in the uterus to increase the chances of pregnancy. Doctors usually decide whether to keep the frozen embryo or keep it for further years of treatment. It depends on the age of the patient under treatment.

Multiple pregnancies involve higher risks and more care. In some cases, doctors also try to use some techniques of fetal reduction which will help the woman to deliver a healthy baby. Doctors are still not sure about this. IVF is a treatment that carries a lot of risks. Furthermore, because of the many emotions involved, the technique of fetal reduction is not performed without concern for the patient.

The risk associated with multiple babies may be that they may be born prematurely, and babies who are born before the term of nine months are said to be preterm. Such children have had health problems for a long time. The lungs may not be as strong, and the brain may not be as developed. Also, it is said that multiple births can lead to other defects that can only be seen with age and a growing child.
